Conceptual Models for Southern Hemisphere

Conceptual Models for Southern Hemisphere was a joint project 2013-2015 between four southern hemispheric Centres of Excellence: Argentina, Australia, Brazil and South Africa, reinforced by an expert group from Indonesia. The project was co-funded by WMO and EUMETSAT.

The purpose of the project was to improve warnings and awareness of weather risks through the use of conceptual models.

The project outcome is altogether 16 new conceptual model descriptions from various regions on the southern hemisphere.

This collection is accessible through the Manual of Synoptic Satellite Meteorology as a part of a global conceptual model catalogue.
